Here at ERMS, safety is our number one concern. Please adhere to the following guidelines both when dropping students off in the morning, and when picking them up after school.  We always appreciate the support we get from our community!

1. Please pull forward (East past the crosswalk) as far as possible when at the school, this ensures that we limit the amount of traffic on 9800 South.

2. Drop off and pick up students on the inside and outside lanes (See attachment). Have students cross the main cross walk with Mr. Bentley/Campbell.

3. Inside Lanes are Thru Lanes (see Attachment)

4. Please do not drop off or pick up students in the bus areas.

5. Be courteous and kind.

Join us for back to school night to check out your schedule and meet your new teachers. Back to school night is always an excellent opportunity for parents to meet teachers and learn more about their classes. Stop by between 6:00 and 7:30 PM to start the 2017 - 2018 off right. The Elk Ridge Middle School Faculty and Staff are thrilled to be back in the classrooms with our fellow wapiti.

August 22nd ERMS will experience a new surge of energy. The halls will fill with incoming 7th graders, anxious to learn everything they can about middle school. Beginning at 7:50 AM, students will rotate through their schedules with 7th period ending at 11:50 AM. Topics of discussion will include schedules, lunches, evacuation procedures, and highlights from the student code of conduct. Next students will be taken on a tour of the building and introduced to cafeteria procedures. After some help and practice opening lockers, 7th graders will learn how to use Skyward and how Wapiti do during dear. We will end the day in the auditorium, welcoming all new 7th graders to Elk Ridge, and making everyone feel more confident about our first day of school.

Each year, a new theme is picked for the Chalk Art Festival for example, two years ago, the theme was "Space". The top placing entries are featured below. Wapiti are all excited to see what visions of Africa will be surrounding our school on October 7th.

Conditions for Membership in the National Junior Honor Society: I am interested in becoming a member of the Elk Ridge Middle School National Junior Honor Society for the school year of 2014-2015. I understand that membership in this organization will require that I maintain a GPA of 3.75 throughout my 9th grade year, and you will be required to earn “H”s and “S”s in citizenship, with no “U”s and no more than one “N”. I understand that I will be required to complete a total of 12 service hours toward the school and the community (two of which can be completed at home or in my neighborhood on projects of my own choosing). I understand that I will occasionally need to come to school early or stay late and that I may miss a class as needs arise related to N.J.H.S. I will be required to make up any work that I miss while attending N.J.H.S. I understand that I will be considered a leader in the school and will be a good example at all times to my fellow students. I understand that I will meet many fine students like myself and that I will be given opportunities to serve the school and community.
