We will be holding our first SCC meeting of this school year on October 17th at 6 p.m.  If you are returning, will you please e-mail me. Also, if you have friends, or neighbors who are new to the school, please invite them to participate in the School Community Council.

The School Land Trust State Committee has created a YouTube channel and uploaded their first mini-training video. We encourage you to watch the first training video.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you,

Margaret Hess

Parents: can you volunteer a few hours and help with Reality Town this year on Thursday, November 8th? Reality Town is a simulation that gives realistic financial experience to our 9th-grade students. We need about 70 volunteers to run this program, so we need dads, moms, neighbors, grandparents, etc. There are 2 sessions: Session 1 (7:30-10:15) and Session 2 (9:45-12:00).  If you or someone you know can volunteer, please fill out the attached survey. Please forward the survey to anyone that might be able to volunteer, but doesn't have a 9th-grade student. Volunteers will receive a light breakfast and short training.

ON-LINE SCHEDULING INSTRUCTIONS
It is now time to schedule 9th grade PCCR conferences.  The conferences are available September 11th - October 4th, with a variety of day and evening appointments. Please plan 30-45 minutes for this meeting.   We would like to stress the importance of attending this meeting with your student. Connecting students, parents, and counselors during the PCCR process is critical to the student's success. Your student will be working on their 4-year plan, and receiving college, financial aid, scholarship, and career information. Your student will be excused from class to attend with you.
We are using a new online scheduling platform within Skyward Family Access.  We hope you find it to be very user friendly.
To schedule your student’s conference appointment, please login to your Skyward Family Access account and follow the attached tutorial. You must use your parent login. If you need your login information, call the Elk Ridge attendance office: 801-412-2805. The best times will go fast, so schedule your appointment ASAP.  If you encounter any problems, please call or email the counseling center or your counselor.  If you are unable to attend any of the available times, please contact your counselor to schedule another meeting. Counseling Center: 801-412-2810.
